Tips from a Blackberry user.

Things I like love ❤ about my Blackberry

1. Finally, I can use only one handphone smartphone. It was quite troublesome to have to carry two phones everywhere you go. My boyfriend studies in Indonesia, so in order to cut cost, we both had two phones with Maxis and XL (Indonesian) line. Now that both of us owns a BB, we just BlackBerryMessenger (BBM) each other. Pantas, senang dah mudah (Cewahhh!).

2. I admit, I'm a Facebook and Twitter(just recently) addict. With BB, I can check and upload pictures to Facebook and blab in Twitter literally everywhere! (Read: everywhere means; 1. places with no wireless network; 2. places with phone coverage)



2. You've probably heard people saying that having a BB is only worthit when your friends/family are also using it. It's true in the sense that you can only Blackberry Messenger with another BB user. The truth is, BBM is the same like any other messenger eg. YM, G-talk, MSN Messenger. The only difference is in BBM, your friends will be among BB users only. You just have to download other messenger application from BB App World and you can start instant messaging your non-BB friends through BB 24/7.

3. E-mailing is a lot easier with BB! The RIM technology allows you to send and receive emails in a flash. This is because your emails & attachments are compressed no larger than 2 KB.

4. It's qwerty keyboard and sleek design. A perfect fit for those with big hands, like me! ;)


Things I dislike about Blackberry

1. You have to subscribe the Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) for you to enjoy those things I mentioned earlier. Your BB can work without BIS, but a BB without BIS = Bukan Blackberry lah! Haha. If you are using prepaid, you can activate your BIS per day/week/month, and the rate depends on your provider. But in my opinion (and experience), if you are planning to use BIS everyday, it is advisable for you to change your plan to postpaid and subscribe the monthly BIS package. I've been using Maxis's BIS service for nearly 5 months now. So far, so good :)

2. RIM, please make a Hipstamatic for Blackberry!! Oh, it will be nice if I can swap lenses, film, and flash settings all with the swipe of a finger on my BB. Tak payah nak beli Lomo dah kalau ada Hipsta for BB!


3. If you like to play games and download ridiculous applications for your phone, BB is not for you. Go for iPhone or Android phone instead. I'm saying this because BB has limited applications for you to download, and most of them aren't free.

4. You cannot make video calls using any Blackberry phones or iPhone 3Gs. Video calls are only available with iPhone 4 (over Wi-Fi only), or the new (not yet released) Blackberry Playbook. Oh saya mahuuuuu itu!

Uuuuuuu. Lebih kecil dari iPad yang gedabak tu.
Yang ini, saya mahu.

5. iPhone 4 is OVERRATED. Siapa setuju sila angkat tangan. Heh.

Wishlist : Camera bags!

It's that time of the year when your birthday is just approaching, the only thing that comes into your mind is receiving that pretty wrapped box, twirled with ribbons and together with it comes a neatly handwritten birthday card, reminding you that you have grown a year older. For me, April is that time of the year! So, to make things easier for you guys me, I've created a wishlist.

LOL. As always, I'm not expecting any present-lah. :P In reality, I will probably end up buying this stuff by myself. Hehe.

My GREATEST craving is : A brand new dslr camera bag! It has to be trendy, but most importantly, it has to look like an ordinary women handbag! I'm sick of carriying that big black dull Canon camera bag. The reason is because photography is my hobby. I'm not planning to be full-blown photog or anything near that field. Carrying that dull canon bag screams "Hey, look at me! I'm a poser!I have no idea how to use a dslr, I own one because everybody has one..". Come on lah. I despise those group of people who carries around dslr around their neck, acting like a real photog when the end result are just MySpace worthy shots. You know what I mean. LOL. Okay, back to the real topic. So, most of the time I will end up tossing my camera in my handbag. Most of my handbags are BIG and BULKY. Not that I didn't have a choice, but I prefer big handbags compared with small ones.

I've got a list of beautiful camera bags which I've came across in the internet. Here is it:

1. Epiphanie Bags

I'm in LOOOOOOOOOOOOVEEEEEE with Epiphanie's Lola (red) camera bag! Ginger (brown) is nice too. But it costs MYR 530 / USD 169. :( I will die in starvation if I get my hands on this bag. *sigh*

2. Kelly Moore Bag

If only I have the money tskkk. These lovelies costs MYR 646/ USD 199.99. I can get two Canon 50 mm f/1.8 lenses with this amount of money! Kelly Moore's bags comes in purple, fuchsia, grey, brown, black, jade, and cranberry. Obviously, I'm torn between purple and fuchsia.

3. Janine King Designs

Funky isn't it? I love the designs. Simple yet stylish! And to make it sound more interesting, it costs MYR 194/ USD 59.99 only! Hahaha. I know it's still expensive, but compared to the previous two bags, there's a higher chance for me to own this baby.

If money is not a problem for me, I'll go for:

1. Epiphanie's Lola/Ginger
2. Janine King's camerabag
3. Kelly Moore's Purple bag


Oh, and hey, if you have come across other beautiful bags, do inform me. I'm keeping my options open for now. Yes, I am serious about buying one! Hehe.

Earth Hour 2010: Save Earth, Go Green! (or black)

If you think you have throwed mountains of rubbish or have been using CFC aerosol spray long enough in your life which contributes to the formation of unwanted holes in the ozone layer, you should become a part of Earth Hour campaign in order to pay your debts to Mother Nature.

Bukan susah pun, on 28th March 2009 at 2030 to 2130 hours 27th March 2010 at 2030 to 2130 hours, grab a blanket as well as your picnic basket and head to your lawn. You should spend that one hour stargazing, instead of watching tv, blogging, facebook-ing, or doing any electricity-required activities.

Vote for EARTH by turning off your lights for ONE HOUR. It is world's first second global election day.

A good start to the new year indeed.

Pfffffffffttt

Actually, I was planning on going to a place where I can get a good view of the fireworks display. I wanted to take some pretty shots of it. But turns out that my foot does not allow me to do so. I think it got knocked by something last year (yesterday,to be exact.:P) or I hit something causing it to bruise real bad. At last, I ended up celebrating new year with Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai. To make things more interesting, Shah Rukh Khan died at the end of the movie *sigh*.


Don't get me wrong. Not celebrating new year does not mean its the end of my life. Staying home during new year's eve has been my yearly routine for the past, oh I don't know, a decade probably? The only thing that attracts me during new years are the fireworks display, nothing more than that. We used to have a chance to see fireworks from our front yard. But now, the only thing that's left is the deafening sound of it.


Tapi takpe lah, this year tak dapat tengok bunga api, tengok kat SINI pun jadi lah.


Before I end this post, can you do me a favor? Please pray for me, as well as my friends, to do well in our studies as out BIG exam is getting nearer. This exam is our ticket to get that M.D. title at the end of our names. Aminnnnnn. Thanks :)))

I took a nap in the middle of reading a topic about Labour.

And in the middle of the one hour or so nap, I dreamt I was in the Labour room,

and my patient was struggling to expel her baby.

and the only thing that I heard in that dream was this:


" Dr Liyana nak tidur, tolong jangan bersalin dulu..."

and this dialogue was told to the patient by the on-call ObGyn specialist.

when I woke up, I can't resist to wonder,

is this a dejavu?

Somehow, I need to feed this blog with something.

So here's it:

1. The boyfriend has landed! :)))

2. Merchants of Bollywood was entertaining.

3. Finally, I'm a final year medical student.

4. I have to find a perfect outfit for dinner next week! Yikes!

5. I have oncall this weekend :( 800 - 0000. But somehow, I have a feeling that it going to be fruitful.

6. I'm rich.

Random Points : June '09

1. I've not been active in blogger since last 3 months. As you can see, I've been transported to Sandakan Sabah for my medical electives, and I have no access to free internet connection there. It was a pretty hard time for me since I couldn't feed my pet in petsociety like I did everyday in KL. Poor Bam Bam.

2. Now, you can know where my whereabouts by following me on Twitter!click on the link. Whether I'm France eating crossaint or in Hollywood chasing Johnny Depp filming Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland (he look hideous as a Mad Hatter!), you will definitely be updated!


Looking at this picture really bring back BAD memories. Remember IT? The haunted clown movie? I can't even get into shower properly for a few weeks back then.

He was much better playing Sam. :)

3. I hate to even think about this. I'll be back to school in about a week time. Being a final year student, it will be a HARD year for me and my friends. But I really, REALLY want to get over all this torture fast, in order for me to get to the next level of torture, the Housemanship. This is fun, really. Do pray for our us to pass, as well as for our happiness.

4. Following number 3, why don't the management reshuffle our grouping? Its not that hardpun. It really can give me something to look forward to. :(

5. Swimming is F.U.N.! I'm slowly catching up with my swimming skills I've learned ten years ago, with the help of the swimming addict herself, the elder sister.

6. Anybody who has a Facebook account and think that you owe me something, care to join me in my posse in Fashion Wars, and Cap'n Seamus Kookypants crew in Pirates Rule The Caribbean (its a facebook game application, and yeah, I know, I really need to go out and breathe some fresh air or something) By doing that, you are free of me debt :)

7. Writing in points Che Det's style is much more faster and easier for me I think. That is because my mind works like a firework. When something comes up, it doesn't stay there for long.

One thing that makes me happy every single day is getting a phonecall from him.

Although it will just be a simple hello or a fight of who's getting fatter after several months apart.

But today I received one of the rare ones. As usual, I waited for his call, which is usually at midnight.

But Vertical Horizon 'The Best I've Ever Had' was not heard until one and a half hour past midnight.

I bet he won't remember that he called today.

Coz I'm pretty sure he's 100% asleep when he called. Nasib lah boleh faham ape die cakap. Haha.

1. Nowadays, I didn't even realize how fast time goes by. When I woke up this morning, its already April. But the thing is, I feel like february has just ended yesterday. It Is quite ironic actually as ObGyn suppose to make days feel like months years.

2. I love April. Not because I will turn a year older in the middle of the month, but just because its April.

3. I realized that I have been thinking too much lately. I don't even notice that I have not cut my hair since October 2008!

4. I missed travelling. For the past two years, in this time of the year, my sisters and I were travelling in Indonesia :(

1. Needless to say, I'm the world's most accounted daydreamer. Sometimes I'm quite suprised of how I can achieve my current stage of life when most of my days are filled with fantasies and hobbits :P.

2. I love the feeling of sourness of teh-o-ais-limau that reaches my throat, definitely soothing.

3. Being a medical student, I (and other med student i believe) have this tendency of over-diagnosing myself, which in turn has lead me to a nearly-miserable life, as well as ruining other people's day ( you know who you are har har har)

4. I don't know how to play even a single musical instrument (obviously I don't inherit my dad's musical genes). Recorders have long gone from my list as I have forgotten how to play it from day I lost my saliva-filled recorder, which was during my secondary school.

5. I have a dream of becoming a scientist when I was young but I got lost along the way and ended up in med school.

6. I heart photography.

7. I admire little things, like how blue the sky is in the evening, how lights can be so beautiful at night and the ray of sunlight when they catches even a tiny drop of water.

8. I have an elder sister, and we are close.

9. I have two younger brothers , and I love 'em both. :)

10. My sister is a lawyer. And they say lawyers and doctors does not goes along that well. But hey, guess what, we share the same bed. How's that for a change. :P

11. I receive/make international calls nearly every day.

12. Maxis operator thinks I'm Indonesian, as I usually get promotional messages in Indonesian language.

13. I have a Celcom sim card which is developed exclusively for Indonesian staying in Malaysia.

14. If you don't know me and you are reading #12 and #13 statement, you might think I'm obsessed with Indonesia or I'm desperated to be an Indonesian.

15 . I'm a proud Malaysian. (referring to the previous statement)

20. I'm allergic to grammar mistakes. That's why it takes me a few hours to finish a new post. But the thing is, I'm not that good in grammar. You do the math.
